For
this week's color study, I wanted to take a closer look at the color gray.
While it is often thought of as dull, I love the beauty in its subtlety.
In college I studied color theory, and one of the things that really
stuck with me was a project on chromatic gray. The variances and hue within gray really are amazing. I hope that this post encourages you to
take a look at the colors of gray around you.

I think that gray is fantastic! I love this study. It seems to evoke many feelings from happy to moody. It is all beautiful! Sorry for the mix up this week. Ha! But I love the outcome :) XO brynn

Thanks Alex! These posts are my favorite as well, so I am glad that you are enjoying them. I love color, and stopping every week to look at a different shade or combination really inspires me. Sometimes it's challenging, and other times they just come together. I'll definitely be continuing with this series.

Oooh Becca I love this study. That shot of the glasses is gorgeous. It's so true, I always think of grey as being kind of dreary, but these shots are giving me second thought. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been totally enamored with gray lately too. I wrote about it on my blog back in December, and I feel the same way--I don't think it's somber at all, but instead soft and comforting, and it can have so much depth. I love your photos--especially the close up of the colored pencils and the papers just after it. I stumbled across your blog lately, and I've really been enjoying it. Just thought I'd say hello to a fellow "gray enthusiast". :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful details. Love the way the "essence" of grey is captured in these pictures. I have a ton of grey in my wardrobe and wear items monochromatically and they always turn out amazingly! Took a peek at the rest of your blog and love what you have. Your newest follower here. Don't be a stranger :) x
ReplyDeleteSo pretty - absolutely love this post. I recognize a J.Crew tee and mom's silverware! xo
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images - love the different tones!
ReplyDeletebeautiful images. Gray is my favorite "neutral" to decorate. About to take the plunge and dye my Memaw's vintage chenille blanket gray to hide the "love" (aka ware)
