Zeitoun

Almost six months ago, I read Zeitoun by Dave Eggers.  This book is a personal account of what happened to a family during Hurricane Katrina.  It's well written and in fact a quick read, but the story is not an easy one.  When I started this book, I had some ideas of the difficulties this family would face.  I remember watching the news and keeping up peripherally with what was happening; however, I was shocked when I learned what this family and in particular this father endured.  Zeitoun was one of the best books I've read in a long time, and the real life story has really stuck with me.  What was the last book you read that stuck with you?

  1. I'm surprised I never heard of this book before, sounds like a riveting read though. I think the last time I was really touched by a book was The Glass Castle...

  2. I am now really interested to read this book! I am traveling to New Orleans in a few weeks and it would be great to read it before getting there. :)

    1. You should definitely read it before going to New Orleans - it's a pretty quick read too.
